Board Administrator (Paid)

  • Paid role

  • Estimate approx 30-40 hours per month

The NZCA is going through a period of Constitutional change, with a new Board to be appointed at the AGM in March 2026. As part of this change, alongside the resignation of our long-standing Secretary, the current Executive is resetting its structure to provide the new Board with a functioning team that can make the transition to a new team of Directors as seamless as possible.

A critical role in that new structure will be that of a Board Administrator. Key duties and responsibilities are noted below:

  • Manage the organisation and administration of NZCA meetings (using AI to capture minutes).
  • Retain primary ownership for the NZCA Secretary email account, ensure all emails are actioned (responded to, or forwarded to the relevant person) within 24 hours of receipt.
  • Act as the liaison between the Board and Operational Committees to ensure
    (a) the Board is kept up-to-date on an ongoing basis
    (b) all reports from Operational Committees are gathered in a timely manner in advance of monthly meetings and
    (c) all / any issues are escalated.
  • Act as the key point of contact between the Board and Curling Community, and NZ Curling and key external stakeholders, in particular World Curling.
  • Organise and maintain the shared (Google) drive with all documentation.

Our ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organisation skills and be comfortable working with modern communication tools, e.g. Gmail, Shared drives, virtual meeting platforms (Zoom, Teams, Google Meet etc.) Knowledge of curling specifically or the sports sector more broadly would be helpful.

Ideally, we'd love for someone to be available to start the role by February at the latest, to allow time to gain a solid understanding of the machinery of our sport, before the new Board is finalised and ready to begin.

If you have any questions or would like to apply, please reach out to Peter de Boer, NZCA Board Member, at coaching@curling.org.nz or on 021 432022.
