World Junior Mixed Doubles under way

 Mixed Doubles

NZ v Poland

7 May 2025 - Ellie McKenzie and Darcy Nevill have the first game under their belt at the inaugural World Junior Mixed Doubles Championship in Edmonton, Canada.

The Kiwi duo found themselves 1-7 down midway through their opening match against Hong Kong. They mounted a comeback, taking the next three ends, but the deficit was too wide and they dropped to a 5-8 loss.

They earned their place in Edmonton when they won the first NZ Junior Mixed Doubles title last August.

29 teams are competing in four pools, and the top two from each pool will qualify for the quarterfinal stage. The medal games will be this Sunday, Edmonton time.
